my day with shannon

this morning shannon and i drove up to LA to find as many vanilla coke billboards as possible and take pictures of them. she works for Ty Mattson, who designed the cans, labels, and billboards (right shan?), and so really i just tagged along on her assignment. so fun to see a master at work!

inspired by my friend matt's suggestion, i have decided to attempt to post a comic of some sort at least once a week.
here is something unimpressive (but hopefully amusing nonetheless) that i doodled this morning. i had to adjust the levels with photoshop because otherwise it was too light to read. i'm learning.

dear elusive readers,

when i post a blog and the comments are sparse, i assume no one is reading my blog. either that, or that you the readers find whatever i am writing to be irrelevant or boring.
therefore, why do i blog?
i have a journal; i can just journal instead.

that being said, if you read my blog, and wish for me to continue blogging, please encourage this process by leaving me some feedback. since i don't particularly enjoy the idea of a one-way conversation with the internet, i encourage you all to help me make mine an interactive blog.

wedding season is in full swing!

sometimes i like weddings. if i know the people well enough.
otherwise a wedding invitation can feel like a bill, the ceremony like a bad movie, and the reception like an undue high school reunion.
my brother is getting married in about 25 days, and did i mention that i am one of ten bridesmaids? i figure the wedding party should be armed, in case terrorist threat level orange causes any commotion during the ceremony. a twenty person bridal party makes for a fairly adequate SWAT team, i think.

anywho, the bridal shower was last saturday- here are a few pictures i took.
