It was 1998...I have been married just over a year. In that year, we went to the Phillipines to see where Lela grew up...It was so muggy...we got a cat..we lived in an upstairs apartment next to the University of Redlands. Definite minuses: Grocery shopping on Friday nights, laundry rooms all taken!? Cool perk: We got to walk to the 4th of July show! I was working at Calvary Chapel of Redlands with the Junior High group. (This time ten years ago exactly, I would be at camp for a week.) Lela was working as a 1st grade teacher in the middle of the ghetto of San Bernardino.
2. Five items on your to-do list
- Write a book on ministry philosophy
- record drums on someone's album that does not yet know me in the OC.
- learn to cook (Big Food Network Fan!)
- swim from one end of the pool to the other
- own the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament and The Oxford English Dictionary.

Funny: I was just thinking about this today when I was moving chairs from the sanctuary out to the parking lot!
The usual: travel, explore rare and dangerous places. Sort of like Survivor man, except with great technological help, like large tents with great big beds and fantastic air conditioning.
I would have an English butler named "Bentley."
I would put a really good retirement program in place for Pastors at the church I was at.
I would support my favorite missionaries and underwrite them for a few years at a time.
I would own Apple.
I would own a Hybrid and invest in development of alternative fuel sources. Nah...I'd probably just buy another Toyota. I might try to buy Toyota, period.
I would hire a scotsman, an irishman and an Englishmen to teach me their respective accents.
My wife and kids would probably benefit the most.
