She's got Class and Style*

Big thanks to Beatrice for telling me about Orla Kiely- I think I want just about every single thing in her collection.

Those tights! Those socks!

I love the new meets old thing going on...

*If anyone can tell me what song the title of this post was inspired by, I'll think up some sweet reward for you....

This one's for Shannon

This is Shannon. She is my best friend, and today is her birthday. Here is a picture of Shannon's hair being blown by the wind in Palm Springs. (I didn't take the picture. I wasn't even in Palm Springs on this occasion, but that is beside the point)

Shannon and I have talked about how birthdays can be kind of awkward because you don't want to make your friends celebrate you on a certain day. We thought it would be a better idea for your friends to pick a random day, get others involved, and surprise you by celebrating you. That makes it more of a choice.
But since we've talked, I've been thinking: time moves awfully fast, and sometimes you need a yearly reminder. That may seem like a funny, roundabout way of saying it, but what I mean is that I don't mind having a day devoted to celebrating Shannon. She's easy to celebrate, and I celebrate her friendship each day, in my heart.
I love her thoughts, the way she sees the world, and the pictures she takes that meld the two together, somehow.

This is a picture of a chart she made herself, and blogged about. I love the chart, love the stickers, love her blog, love her.

Happy Birthday dear one. !!

Church & State

Church & State has lovely clothes. That's about the simplest way to put it.
It doesn't hurt that their photos are also stunning.

love this one,

Been feeling the fashion bug lately, which you may have picked up on, given the amount of attention I'm giving fashion in recent posts....hope that's ok. :]

Book Art

I took a class once that was all about "books arts." Before you assume I was getting my BA in Witchery, let me explain. There's a whole wave of art centered around books.
I've said more than once that I love art that incorporates words or text, and books are obviously included in this.
Dani posted a cool piece of book art awhile ago that inspired me to find more.

Melbourne artist Nicholas Jones:

and other random ones I found online:

I want to fill my house with book art. Gahh I love it all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you spend it with people you love, and eat some good food.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it's like Christmas, without the pressure of gifts.

The Small Stakes

I like music. I like posters.
Therefore, I like music posters quite a bit.

Today, I re-found the cool poster making/selling site, Small Stakes.
It turns out it's the artwork of just one (very talented) guy, Jason Munn.

The site has tons of cool posters, all really reasonably priced.
Be sure to check out his portfolio- there's some neat illustrations for Wired magazine and Chronicle Books.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, by the way!

Pretty Things

I'm digging lately:

Wooden accessories, like the Vestal Rosewood Watch from Swell
Grey knee highs
Nude colored blouses (esp with ruffles)
Silky tops, like that magenta one from UO
Mixed media accessories, like that wood&gold bangle by French Connection
Cameos. Cameos, cameos, cameos.
Canvas shoes, like these ones by Ecote, available at UO.

Nice stems*

Currently digging Kate Spade legwear....which counts as the first time anything by Kate Spade has caught my eye. (No offense to KS or her adorers, I'm just not a bubblygirlyprep type)

*remember that quote from Clueless? Funny what stays in your memory over the years...

La Photo Cabine

Every once in awhile I stumble upon something really sweet online. Be it virtual bubble wrap, digital polaroid makers, or a sale at Chronicle Books, it's these infrequent discoveries that fuel my otherwise time-wasting internet wanderings.

Last night I found another nugget:

La Photo Cabine.

Visit, enter the little french photobooth, become delightfully befuddled by the french directions, and download your own vintage-looking photobooth strips.

You're welcome.

Blythe by Jimmy Choo

Turns out Jimmy Choo has a new line of bags and some shoes named after me.

See for yourself:

(ok, not after me, per se, but a girl can dream, eh?)
Too bad I'm not a huge fan of these items.
Or Jimmy Choo.

Osborn shoes

Stumbled upon this whole collection of supersweet handmade canvas booties the other day. I can't even decide which ones I would buy....if I had a little extra cash-flow.

From Osborn Design Studios, found via Bits and Bobbins
I spotted a similar style by Ecote at UO awhile ago....might look into that more.

Have a pleasant Tuesday :]
