I drew a chalk outline of where you used to lay-
being only chalk, it requires I redraw it every day.
And it's as though you've died- but I know you're still alive-
still I draw with the chalk and it's as though you've passed away.

spring
I picked up some ranunculus at TJ's a couple days ago, and suddenly it feels more like spring.

then i saw this little plucked-off bunch,

this was mostly inspired by shannon- both her recent ranunculus post and our photo tutorial sesh. way to inspire, lady. ;)

Rock-ulents
As i've mentioned in the past, I'm a big fan of succulents.
The title of this post reflects the fact that I think they rock, they do not suck, as their name implies.
I picked a few new babies to add to my growing kitchen-ledge collection,

ahhh! I already love them so much. !!

I love the shape of the blue pot. Little hexapot,

i thought about naming them. this one would be Ruby,
eve,
clay, because my friend clay gave me this one,
love the fuzziness,

here they are, all in a row! ((with the exception of my hanging donkeytail by the front door))

Clare Rojas
A couple weeks ago, the lovely folks over in the Chronicle Books stationery dep. sent over some samples of a new line of paper goods by San Francisco artist Clare Rojas (aka 'indie art star Clare Rojas!'). They sent a boxed set of cards and a cloth journal:
The card set is called "From My Garden Eco-Keepsake Notecards," and includes 16 cards with 4 repeating designs,

The "Floriography Journal" includes 9 beautiful, full-color reproductions interspersed throughout,

I can't wait to finish the journal I'm currently using and us this one. !!
Rojas' work is brilliant and refreshingly vibrant. It's organic yet structured- and in this way, mimics the beauty and [un]predictability of nature. I've been sending out cards left and right to share this wealth of beauty with friends.
Thanks again to the folks at CB! :]
