.:Accordions & harmonicas:.
this being the final day of the Favorite Things Project, I thought I'd give you all a double dosage. These are my two favorite instruments. A couple years back, I took up the harmonica. I was inspired by the greats: Dylan and Young, and I had this vision of one day being able to play the harmonica and guitar simultaneously. Two songs, specifically: "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young and "It Ain't Me Babe," written by Dylan and covered by a number of others.

Anyway, I bought a Hohner Blues Harp and got to it. It's been a slow process, but I'm having fun with it. Jordan bought me the hands-free holder thingy a couple years ago, so all I have to do is learn to play guitar and I'm set! ;)I'd like to think the accordion appreciation has been around my whole life, but I think it really kicked in sometime in '06 when I discovered and fell in love with Beirut. The way they use it is absolutely enchanting. The song "Wroclai" in particular. mmmm. The music of Amelie also played a big part in fostering this love.
I picked up this little beauty at the Long Beach Antique Market yesterday for only $15! I'm having a blast with it, and have been taking it in the car with me to play at stop lights. Cue enthusiastic (read: quizzical) looks from neighboring cars. Here is Jordan trying it out,
