DIY cut-out shoulder shirt

I was thinking the shirt in today's post would make a good DIY post, so I whipped up this little graphic, but then I realized my only instruction is:

1) Cut out the shoulders.

I could break that up into more steps involving scissor selection and cut-out positioning, but I don't really have all the technicalities down. I will offer the advice to stay away from the arm pit (as in, allow at least 2-3 inches), and ALSO that you can always cut away more, but you can't add once more once you cut, so start a little smaller than you think you might want. Then try it on and see how you feel about it. I have yet to wash mine, so I'm thinking the whole it-might-unravel possibility over now. I know there's liquid hemming stuff that would make it easy, or there's always the good ol' needle & thread.

Or you can just buy this one from urban outfitters for $50:

 Your choice.

Have fun! Send me links to your pictures if you do this one!
